What is the pilates method and what does it give us?
The Pilates method is a physical and mental training created in the early twentieth century by Joseph Hubertus Pilates, who devised it based on his knowledge of various specialties such as gymnastics, traumatology and yoga, linking dynamism and muscle strength with mental control, breathing and relaxation.
The method focuses on the development of inner muscles to maintain body balance and give stability and firmness to the spine, is widely used as therapy in rehabilitation and to prevent and cure back pain.
We work deeply the control center, or center of energy, the POWER HOUSE located in the inferior part of the trunk which fortifies the lumbar and abdominal zone. This center is activated by hollowing out the transverse muscle of the abdomen, which enables the body to move freely and in a balanced manner, avoiding harmful movements and compensations.
In these classes the exercises will be carried out on the floor on our Mat and all the movements are initiated and sustained from our Power House. With Pilates you will be able to tone and shape muscles, gain flexibility and dexterity, agility and coordination of movements, strengthen the abdomen and correct and improve your posture.
