What is Hatha Yoga and what does it have to offer?
Dating the origin of yoga is not easy because it dates back thousands of years, what is known is that it was born in the East, some say it was born thanks to the Hindu god Shiva and was spread by scholars like Patañjali twho transmitted in his texts the Yoga Sutras of Patañjali in s. III a.c. and Yogi Svãtmãrãma with his work the Hatha Yoga Pradipika in s. XIV a.c. Then began to emerge different schools and styles of yoga until today.
The word Hatha in Sanskrit means “Union”. – Ha – means sun and -tha – moon, this is what it essentially means, to create a harmonious union between body, mind and soul.
By practicing Hatha Yoga you begin to pay more attention to the physical body, to your thoughts, to food, to rest, to breathing… and in this way you get a calmer and better mental state.
Anyone can practice Hatha Yoga even children from the age of 4 can begin to benefit from yoga as a recreational activity.
