Art is Andrés Heredia’s second nature. Born in Madrid, Andrés Heredia is the son of the famous Spanish guitarist Andrés Heredia and grandson of the flamenco singer of the same name, commonly nicknamed “El Bizco de la Ignacia”.
He started professionally playing at the age of sixteen in the famous tablao “Los Canasteros” of the Spanish flamenco singer Manolo Caracol. A year later he started working in the tablao “Los Cabales”.
Andrés Heredia has taken his art and passion all over the world. From countries all over Europe to countries like Mexico, Argentina, Japan or China. He has also been part of North American companies such as “Noche Flamenca”, “Calota Santana” and “María Benítez”.
In Spain, he has been part of companies like “La Cumbre Flamenca” and has collaborated in the Carmen Amaya Professional Dance Conservatory.
He learned how to play the guitar to accompany the singing together with renowned singers such as El Indio Gitano, Ramón el Portugués or José Mercé, to mention just a few. He has also played for dancers of the stature of Lola Flores, Juan Andrés Maya, La Chunga, La Tati, Domingo Ortega, Antonio and Manuel Reyes, Joaquín Cortes or Belén Maya, among others.
For some years now he has accompanied dancers with his guitar in some of the most renowned flamenco tablaos in Madrid, “El Café de Chinitas”, “El Corral de la Morería” and in concert halls such as “Florida Park”.
We are proud to have a great professional like Andrés Heredia as the new member of our El Lucero team and we firmly believe that his guitar lessons will be very fruitful and satisfactory for our students.
