María Cruz Is a “bailaora” and flamenco dance teacher, co-founder of the El Lucero school.Was born in 2001 in Madrid. She began her dance studies at the age of 3 in her neighborhood dance academies. Since then, she has been training with great artists of today’s flamenco scene, such as Carmen La Talegona, Pastora Galván, Manuela Carrasco, Claudia Cruz, Belén López, Lidón Patiño, Pepa Molina…
Maria has a wide domain and handling of elements, complements and accessories such as: bata de cola, mantón, bastón abanico, castañuelas…..
So far, she has shared the stage with artists such as Pastora Galván, Alba Heredia, Caudia Cruz, Karime Amaya…
In 2018, she opened her flamenco school together with her mother in the center of Madrid (Escuela El Lucero).
She currently combines her activities as a dancer and teacher with the role of artistic director of El Lucero, as well as collaborating in the promotion of the school using her knowledge of marketing.
She performs in events for hotels and is part of the team of El Lucero flamenco school.
She began her studies at the Conservatorio Profesional de Danza Fortea (in the Flamenco Dance discipline), initially taking the first-year entrance examinations and obtaining an extension from enrollment to the second year.
In 2019, she was invited to an event at the tablao Casapatas by the dancer Claudia Cruz, accompanied by Marco Flores, Chelo Pantoja, Quini de Jerez, Manuel de la Nina, Ismael de la Rosa and Alejandro Moreno.
In February, she obtained the second prize in the individual category in the Campeonato Nacional de Danzas Ángel Martínez (Ángel Martínez National Dance Championship) having as juries the artists Carlos Rodríguez, Carmen La Talegona and Mariano Bernal.
In April, she was awarded the prize for best dancer in the group category in the contest Pasión por la Danza. The jury was formed by Carmen La Talegona, Jesús Lozano and Carmela Greco. The dancer Carmen La Talegona granted her a training scholarship with her, apart from the prizes awarded in the contest, starting then her training with the famous artist and dancer.
She took part of choreographies such as: “Fatigas Dobles”, created by Ángel Rojas and performed in the Real Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático de Madrid (Spain’s Royal School for Dramatic Arts) and “Alhambra”, created by Antonio Canales. In May, she performed at a private event at the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid. In July, she took classes at the Escuela Internacional de Flamenco Manolete de Granada, with the great artist Manuela Carrasco.
María Cruz shares the stage with the renowned artist Pastora Galván in Madrid. María Cruz is always learning from artists such as Carmen La Talegona, at the Spanish dance and flamenco center Amor de Dios, at the Escuela El Lucero and at the renowned Conservatorio Profesional de Danza Fortea.
